These adorable pumpkins are really easy AND really fun to make!
What you need:
Paper- I used 2 sheets orange for big pumpkins and one for small
You'll also need green paper for the leaves and vines
Craft scissors (or regular scissors, but I like the fun edges)
Glue, staples or tape (I used staples and tape but wish I would've just used strong glue--but we
didn't have any at the time!)
What to do:
1. Cut paper into one inch strips long ways for large pumpkins (remember, use 2 sheets!) and short ways for small pumpkins. My son did most of this part but only after tons of scissor safety talk!
2. Take one end of the strips and fan them out evenly to make a full circle (look like a star *)
3. Glue, tape or staple them together. I used staples at this part and had to do it in 2 sections. And then staples the two together. This is another part kids can help easily with after safety talks have happened. I held the paper and stapler in place and my son just pressed the staple in. I think this was his favorite part.
4. Fold the pieces up and make another star shape at the other end and staple/glue/tape them together!
5. Now that you have your pumpkin you need to cut out the leaves and vines. I did free hand leaves (one big, one small for each pumpkin) and then cut thing strips (longways) out of green paper.
6. Wrap the stem part tightly around your finger (or your kids, if they are up to it) and take it off.. It should now be curled!
7. Take your vine and glue or tape the leaves ON TOP of it.
8. Glue or tape the leaves and vine to the top of the pumpkin! - I suggest No staples at this part since they wouldn't look so cute :)
Voila! Finished!
Easy peasy hanging bats
What you need:
Black paper
Pencil
Hole punch
Scissors
String
1. Fold paper in half
2. Draw half of a bat along the folded edge of the paper (middle of the head to tail should be on edge)
3. Cut along the lines you drew, leaving folded edge uncut.
4. Flatten out the paper and Put a hole punch in the head or tail, depending on how you want your bat to hang. This is where the little man helped me with this one (and he folded the paper).
5. Tie a loop through the howl with your string. I choose the loop method since it usually makes the paper hang straiter and won't rip the paper.
6. hang them up however and wherever you wish!
Done!
These were mine and my sons favorite to make! Hanging paper pumpkins from scrapbook paper!
What you need:
Paper (one sheet per pumpkin) and green paper for leaves
Stapler
Scissors or paper cutter ( I have a small, cheap one)
Hole punch
String
What you do:
1.Cut one inch strips ( long way) out of your paper. My son used the (kid safe) paper cutter and did this part himself.
2. Leave (two) at 11 in, cut (two) at 9 in, (two) at 7in and (one) at 6in
3. Stack them as so: 11,9,7,6,7,9,11 ( good place for kids to help again!)
4. Line up bottoms and staple( kids love to staple)
5. Next you start at the middle and line each piece up at the top and staple. Your pumpkin will form itself.
6. Next cut 2 leaves and glue or staple one to each side.
7. Hole punch through all of the paper at end with leaves.
8. Tie a loop with string through the hole. Leave it loose so you don't pull the pumpkin!
9. Hang and enjoy!
